Retired Corporal James "Jim" Biever was a dedicated Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) Officer for 25 years. He served the PSP with pride, honor and integrity, inspiring many that he crossed paths with. Jim understood the value that policing had in its communities, and believed wholeheartedly in the work of state and local police officers.
In May of 2020, Jim was diagnosed with Stage IV Cancer and given a more limited timeframe on his life than he anticipated. With this time, he had hoped to begin a foundation that supported a police and community alliance in Lebanon County, especially in a time that desperately called for unity and trust. He began the discussion with his friends and family, but shortly after, his illness worsened. Realizing that his prognosis was short, he worked fast to create a facet of what he had envisioned part of his foundation to carry out- The Biever Family Police Scholarship Fund- in the hopes of aiding Lebanon County Police Departments and the cadets who are receiving training through the Municipal Police Officers’ Education and Training Commission (MPOETC). Jim passed away on August 12th, 2020, but was able to see his vision come to fruition as the plans were finalized days prior to his death.
It is with great pride that we honor Jim's legacy by carrying out the work that he started.

The James Biever Police-Community Alliance is committed to investing in the future of law enforcement and public service through meaningful scholarship opportunities. Each year, we proudly award a $1,000 scholarship to graduating high school seniors pursuing a degree in a criminal justice–related field. By supporting students at the beginning of their journey, we aim to cultivate the next generation of ethical, community-focused professionals dedicated to serving and protecting with integrity.
Professional Development
We support the ongoing professional development of law enforcement through funding and access to critical training and educational programs. This includes assistance with ACT 120 police academy training, advanced leadership development through FBI-LEEDA, and other relevant educational opportunities as they arise. By investing in continued education, we help ensure that our local officers are equipped with the knowledge, skills, and leadership tools necessary to effectively serve an evolving community.

Building strong, positive relationships between law enforcement and the community is at the heart of our mission. Through events such as Cram-A-Cruiser, the James Biever Memorial Run, Coffee with a Cop, Pizza with Police, and Cops and Candy Canes, we create meaningful opportunities for connection, understanding, and trust. These initiatives foster open dialogue, promote unity, and reinforce the shared commitment to a safer, more connected community.

Gestión del estrés por incidentes críticos (CISM)
Si desea hablar con un compañero para recibir apoyo tras un incidente traumático, contáctenos al 717-708-2746 y solicite hablar con un miembro del CISM. El centro de llamadas está disponible las 24 horas, los 7 días de la semana. Su salud mental es importante. Como socorrista, es muy probable que experimente un evento traumático en el desempeño de sus funciones. Estos incidentes pueden provocar reacciones emocionales y físicas. Aunque estas reacciones son normales, recuerde: ¡NO ESTÁ SOLO! Cuenta con un equipo de apoyo listo para ayudar. El equipo del CISM está capacitado para ayudar a mitigar el impacto de un incidente crítico y a ayudar al personal a recuperarse lo más rápido posible del estrés asociado.

Se presenta el nuevo logotipo de la quinta carrera anual en memoria de James Biever
La Alianza Policial-Comunitaria James Biever (JBPCA) se complace en presentar un nuevo logotipo para la Quinta Caminata Anual Conmemorativa James Biever de 10K, 5K y 1 Milla. ¡Presenta un divertido castor con gafas de sol y gorra de policía! El diseño hace un guiño alegre al nombre "Biever", haciendo un eco lúdico de la palabra "castor", y captura el espíritu alegre y comunitario del evento anual. "El logotipo de este año captura todo lo que nos encanta de este evento: diversión, comunidad y el espíritu de Jim", dijo Michelle Biever. "Sin duda, tenía un gran sentido del humor, y queríamos algo que lo reflejara y que hiciera sonreír a la gente al verlo. Creemos que este alegre castor lo consigue". Este año, la carrera se llevará a cabo el sábado 9 de agosto de 2025, a partir de las 8:00 a. m. en el Centro de Exposiciones de Lebanon Valley, y el recorrido serpenteará por los pintorescos senderos Rails to Trails de Lebanon Valley. El registro para el día de la carrera abre a las 7:00 a. m. y personas de todas las edades están invitadas a participar o animar desde la banda.
